In July, Guyanese songbird, Timeka Marshall released a hot new single titled “I Won’t Stop” on the Jambe-an Riddim.
The song is definitely one of her best pieces to date. The video was shot in Jamaica, incorporating elements of Jamaica, Trinidad and Guyana. The catchy single is a definite party hit, sure to make ladies “bubble and wine and kotch and drop!”
In the video, Timeka can be seen paying homage to the land of her birth by sporting a swimsuit designed to depict the Guyana flag. The fun and sexy video also features elements of one of the biggest parties in the Caribbean – Carnival; Timeka can be seen dancing in her Carnival costume and playing with powder, an act synonymous with J’ouvert.
The lyrics speak to having fun, being true to one’s self and living life to the fullest.
“Where there is rum imma be there,
Soca and sun imma be there
Nobody can stop this ah feeling
Happiness is what we believe in”
